MLB best bets, HR props for Friday 7/28: Kirk looks to beam one up

It's a beautiful day for dingers in MLB, so let's try to make some money off them, shall we? Here are my three favorite home run props for Friday's slate.

Jeimer Candelario (+600 FanDuel)

The Washington Nationals get to face Max Scherzer Friday, and while that's normally a scary proposition, the three-time Cy Young winner has not been able to keep the ball in the yard of late. Scherzer has given up nine homers over his last four starts, so I'm looking to fade him in this market. Jeimer Candelario leads the Nats in home runs off right-handed pitching (13) this year, and he also leads the team in long balls since the All-Star break (three).

Byron Buxton (+400 DraftKings)

Byron Buxton hasn't been hitting well in the month of July. The Minnesota Twins center fielder has just three hits in his last 37 at-bats, but two of them happened to be home runs. In 13 career ABs against Kansas City Royals starter Brady Singer, Buxton is hitting .539 with two doubles and two homers. If there was a day to get off the schneid, it would be this one.

Alejandro Kirk (+800 FD)

Alejandro Kirk has hit only four home runs in 227 at-bats this season, but he has a great chance to make it five Friday. The Toronto Blue Jays catcher has four hits in 11 career ABs against Lucas Giolito, and three of them were home runs. Kirk is also scorching hot at the plate with nine hits in his last 18 at-bats, so this is well worth a sprinkle at +800.
