Watch: Ejected Draymond Green greets Stephen Curry after Warriors’ win over Magic

Wednesday night’s game against the Orlando Magic didn’t start as the Golden State Warriors or anyone else envisioned.

Forward Draymond Green, who was dealt an indefinite suspension earlier this season, was ejected less than four minutes into the game, leaving the Warriors to face the tall task of defeating the playoff-bound Magic on the road in a spot where they needed a victory.

Green had words with the official and was given a technical foul, but he opted not to back off after receiving the first warning. His continued comments led to a second technical foul and an ejection moments later.

The result left Warriors star Stephen Curry visibly emotional on the floor.

But in the end, the 10-time All-Star shook off a tough shooting night and the shorthanded Warriors emerged with a 101-93 victory, thanks in part to a clutch step-back three-pointer from Curry that sealed the victory and led to a full-court “night night” celebration.

Curry’s emotions were on full display after the dagger, and while he spoke about how badly the team needs Green to stay on the floor after the game, it appears there’s still no shortage of love between the two.

After Curry’s impressive finish to the game, he was met by Green, who was all smiles while recreating Curry’s famous celebration.

While the Warriors managed to pick up the pivotal road victory against Orlando, meaning they remain the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference and hold the final spot in the play-in tournament, Green’s presence is more vital than ever.

The Warriors moved to 38-34 on the season but hold just a one-game edge on the final postseason spot in the West over the surging Houston Rockets, who have won 10 straight games.

And with 10 games remaining in the season, if Golden State wants to fend off a hungry Houston team for a spot in the playoffs, it’ll need all hands on deck. Green ranks near the top of the list in terms of importance.
