Paulo Fonseca has been linked with a move to AC Milan as his contract will expire in the summer, while Stefano Pioli will leave the club. Today, the Lille manager was asked about the alleged interest once again.
Milan have been linked with several managers since the Europa League exit and Fonseca is one of them. He has done well with Lille, currently in fourth place, and his deal with the club will expire at the end of the season.
Following the 2-1 win over Lille earlier today, Fonseca was asked about the Milan links in the post-match press conference and if he had met Zlatan Ibrahimovic to discuss the matter. He reiterated that he’s fully focused on the remaining three games (see video below).
In Italy, they are talking about you taking over Milan…
“I’m totally focused on the remaining three games…”
Have you met with Ibrahimovic?
“Sorry? I’m still in Lille to work, there’s no way.”
– "On parle de vous du côté du Milan AC et vous avez rencontré Zlatan ?"
– "Pardon ? Je suis toujours concentré sur Lille"

It remains to be seen if Milan will accelerate their interest in the manager, with evaluations currently ongoing on a few candidates. Julen Lopetegui has been touted as the favourite but no decision has been made and the Rossoneri are listening to the fans.
